If you have ten or more students attending:

For every ten (10) students that a group registers, one (1) complimentary registration will be provided to a staff attendee from the university.

This complimentary registration will be applied as a credit*.

To receive the discounted subscription rate, register as a subscriber here first, prior to registering for the Annual Conference.

If you pay by check (selecting Invoice Me), an invoice will be generated by the Registration Team via email reflecting the amount with the complimentary registration included.

If you pay by credit card, you will receive a credit for the complimentary registration following the transaction and documentation to account for the credit will be provided to the purchaser to account for the credit with your university or organization billing end.

NGLA Annual Conference FAQs

What does the NGLA Annual Conference Schedule look like for 2017?

The NGLA Schedule and Educational block listings are listed entirely on the Guidebook Application (available for iPhone and Android devices). Attendees can review and create a schedule of the sessions they’ll be attending.  All attendees should fill out their emergency contact information on their Guidebook.  Currently, the blocked schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, February 23, 8:30pm – 10pm
  • Friday, February 24, 8am – 8pm
  • Saturday, February, 25 8am – 9:30pm
  • Sunday, February, 26 – Travel Day, No scheduled NGLA Conference Programming 

The full schedule will be posted in February as the conference gets closer.

Is there a special conference room rate? 

We have a block booking at the Hartford Downtown Marriott attached to the Hartford Convention Center.  Rates are currently $165/ night as block rooms remain available.  For information on the hotel site, click here.

Travel: 

Bradley Airport is the closest airport to the hotel/ conference site. There is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel for groups traveling by car.  

Are all meals included? 

Friday lunch, Saturday lunch, and Saturday dinner are all included in the conference schedule. Breakfast is the responsibility of the delegation or individual attendees. Some choose to pack portable breakfast foods as an alternative. Delegations should discuss dinner plans for both Thursday and Friday evenings.

Is there a conference dress code? 

Conference attire is business casual. The banquet on Saturday night is more formal (cocktail dresses and dark suits). Many delegations choose to wear council sweatshirts, embroidered logo shirts, collegiate gear, etc. on Thursday and Sunday since both are travel days. Delegates generally dress casually on Sunday in preparation for the trip home. Don’t forget to check the weather. Meeting rooms can be chilly and delegations traveling off site should be prepared with warm winter gear.

When does registration check in for the conference begin? 

Advisors may check their entire delegation into the hotel to alleviate congestion at the registration desk. Registration check in begins at 4pm on Thursday, February 23 and registration will run until 8pm that evening.  Each following day, registration is available beginning at 8am until 2pm for late arrivals.

Will I have Wifi access at the conference? 

Wifi is available in each hotel guest room and in the Marriott hotel lobby.
