Annual Conference

2008 NGLA Awards

Each year at the Annual Conference, the Northeast Greek Leadership Association (NGLA) recognizes outstanding Panhellenic, Interfraternity, Greek, National Pan-Hellenic/Black Greek, Latino/a councils in the region with the presentation of awards. Participation in the awards process is limited to those councils who have abided by the NGLA Code of Conduct in the previous year.  Councils violating the Code are ineligible to participate in the process.

Programming Excellence Awards

All governing councils are encouraged to apply for awards in one or more program categories. The process of preparing an awards application in and of itself will assist the council in evaluating its programs and services to member chapters. The submission of an application and supporting documentation gives the council an opportunity to have its various programs evaluated by outside experts who will provide the representatives of the council written feedback and suggestions at the Annual Conference.

Programming Excellence Awards: These awards may be presented to councils (in each division) whose application in a particular programming category indicates outstanding achievement. A council may apply for as many Programming Excellence Awards as the council desires by submitting information in one or more of the nine programming categories. Awards will be presented to all councils that qualify in each Programming Category.

The nine(9) Programming Categories are as follows:

  1. Academic Achievement
  2. Council Management
  3. Leadership & Educational Development
  4. Membership Recruitment
  5. Multicultural Initiatives
  6. Panhellenic COB       (Panhellenic only)
  7. Philanthropy/Community Service
  8. Public Relations
  9. Risk Reduction and Management

Click a category name above to open the application for that category in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.

Panhellenic Councils are eligible to apply for all Programming Excellence Awards. Interfraternity, Greek and National Pan-Hellenic/Black Greek, Latino/a councils are eligible to apply for all Programming Excellence Awards excluding number 6 (Panhellenic COB).

Be sure to read the Instructions for Completing an NGLA Awards Application as you begin your review of the different programming categories.

Applications for awards are reviewed separately for each size division. Each council's programs are reviewed and compared only to councils of similar size and resources. NGLA reserves the right not to present an award in a particular division or programming category if none of the applications demonstrate performance significantly above the standards set by the Association.

Divisions: Awards are presented to councils in the following divisions:
